1978 Kawasaki Z1R Turbo

Rick Head has owned this original 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 Z1R Turbo on and off for the last 20 years. Rick purchased the bike back again in early 2004 and has recently finished a complete restoration. Modifications include a 4 degree rake, 6” over swing arm, factory rear wheel widened to accept Metzeler 170/60/ZR18 tire, 1200 cc Big Bore kit, welded crank, S&S shorty carb, front steerig dampener, custom candy tangerine paint and leather seat. Rick re-fabricated the entire turbo system adding a high flow wastegate and blueprinted the original Rajay F40 turbocharger. Power-200 HP @ 25 PSI best et 9.50 @ 150 MPH.
